Re: Hmmn, stream worked fine for me.

This has a pace that reminds me of parts of the Apollo 13 score.

I really like the arrangement. It has a "Floating" (no pun intended quality that is a trademark of your music. The horns in this definitely brought the Matrix scores to mind.

I have to go see Revolutions.

I have two points: (maybe.)

The Bass Pizzicato just didn't seem to fit.

It was short.

I must say, this seems to be a potential contest winner to me.

Sincerely,

Re: Floating- new orchestral track. All opinions are weclome...

Hi,

The track is tremendous - very expressive. Sounds great on my nice new reference monitors. :-)

Amazing to me is how good the strings sound. As a matter of fact, listening on the mp3, I would have bet good money that there was no way these were from the Orchester and/or Factory sound bank.

A great example of how the arrangement makes the sound.

The mp3 goes in my Reason Board Songs/Stompp folder and the rps get dissected to (hopefully) help me gain some insight into getting better sounds.

Great work.

Re: Floating- new orchestral track. All opinions are weclome...

:Hi all!
:
:Well, here's a new track called Floating...
:
:I was trying to create something both epic and whimsical (at least in places). It's a filmscore- I'm going to enter it into the classical music competition over at Reason station when my random password has been sent to me, and I can log in.
:
:I'd quite like to hear any thoughts before hand, so as always anything you have to say is great.
:
:Here is the link for the RPS (copy into browser)-
:
:ftp://ftp.propellerheads.se/pub/song...p-floating.rps
:
:Soundclick members can download an mp3 here (again copy into browser, don't worry; you won't have to search for it, it's right at the top)-
:
:
:At the bottom there's a direct link to stream an mp3, which should work fine for everyone.
:
:Just a quick note to anyone I'm working on a collaboration with- I haven't forgotten, don't worry! Just trying to get some ideas going for those collabs (this orchestral track was a spur of the moment creation, I've only worked on it today).

I usually reciprocate and review others who have reviewed my music.

Listening..

The sounds qualities are very nice. "Floating" is a suitable title for the music. It has quite an old "Asian" music flavor to it. You have a part in which the higher string sections contribute to the texture by playing some C chord semi-staccato notes (E D E D ...). I would expand on this and have the lower strings enter 4 or 8 measures later with something similar (maybe in the G chord) to capture all spectrum of frequencies. The pauses are done well at appropriate times. The whole track seems a little bit short though.

Nicely done!
