Propellerheads promise "cool things" in the future...

I'm not sure how many people read the Propellerhead plan files, but I noticed Tage updated on the 13th and here's a small excerpt from it:

"So, it's back to the grind doing... er, can't really tell. It's the frustrating part with these plan files. There are a ton of cool things that you want to write about, but you can't coz they are not annouced yet. Well, they will be eventually, and then I'll tell about what fun I had on August 12th if I remember."

So there you have it, the Props arn't sitting on their hands like some people are starting to believe. Whether these "cool things" have anything to do with Reason, I don't know. But, one this is certain, they'll be announce..."eventually".

We never sit on our hands - we just don't say much about what's coming next until we know exactly when it's coming. That usually means when we're entering beta testing.

well actually there was a hint...

look at frederick plan file - the part about draggable toolbars:
"These thoughts are not my own. It's common stuff that any GUI designer or software developer worth his/her name should be familiar with. So if we manage to keep up with our tradition of only hiring great people, and our design ethics of removing unneeded flexibility, I can positively assure that you will never see draggable menu bars in a Propellerhead application.

I don't dare say anything about toolbars since, in a sense, the sequencer toolbar in Reason is already draggable... Ouch! :-)" - some changes to sequencer, huh?

Re: well actually there was a hint...

I don't think that is what Fredrik meant. The tool bar is draggable only in the sense that you can change the size. or completetly hide the sequencer pane.

Otherwise we'll have to make Fredrik suffer the traditional punishment for breach of NDA: Style Punishment! He'll get to wear really uncool clothes for a year or two. Like me. I couldn't keep my mouth shut at a NAMM show a few years ago and bragged about the Malstr

and another programmer on the way

With the job posting for yet another programmer I see it as a good sign. Something big is happening and they need more hands on deck.

...well, that or they laid off the old programming staff and are looking for new ones

You just know they're working on VST, MIDI out and audio in support just so they can laugh in my face!

But not soon .
In my experience it takes 3-6 months for a new developer to learn the system and start being really productive...
