Adam Fielding - The Fall

Hi all,

Looks like the synthpop bug has struck again :] This track kind of started off as an excuse to waste a fair amount of time tinkering with drums instead of doing actual university work (oops). The good news is that I am somehow still on top of most of my work.

There are a few places you can check out the track (called "The Fall" - probably should have mentioned that). If you have a decent connection, the highest quality version is on my Facebook page -

The reason being that Facebook seems to be one of very few sites that doesn't transcode files for streaming - so the 192kbps stream is there. Might not work on everyone's connection, though. If you're having problems, you can use one of these links:-

No downloadable version, I'm afraid - I wanted to share it, but I want to keep my options open with regards to what I do with it.

I'd love to know what you make of it; it's my first completed song using my bassline swag (woop) so I'd be interested to know how it sounds to you.

And... of course, bar the recorded vocals, it's all Reason :]

Hi,

The song is ok. I actually quite like your vocals. What software/mic do you use?

I fancy having a go mcing over my dnb music.

Very cool and amazing production as always!! The drums are very powerful without overwhelming the rest of the mix. Your vocals seem to lay very well in all of the underpinning and nice FX's. This is not really exactly pop 'cause it has some great quirky stuff going on. A bit Thomas Dolby at times (for your pop reference). Great stuff - now do your school work!! LOL

Great work Adam! Reminds me of Neurotic Fish a bit, kind of eerie

Cheers guys - glad you liked it :]

@ KIBBEJA & iammane: thanks guys. I keep meaning to check out Thomas Dolby but still... haven't. I'd never even heard of Neurotic Fish until now, guess I've got some listening to do!

@ Epitetus: the vocals were recorded using an SE2200a (which I think sounds remarkably good for the price) through a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. I used Cubase to record the vocals, which I then exported and Recycled before throwing them back into Reason.

...and I never said this was my first uni... ;]

i mean... it is... but that's beside the point

As if the uni experience is the litmus for music experience. Not to negate the wonderful education that can be had at an institution for higher learning, but a practical life experience in music is also precious. Adam and Epitetus- just keep making music and always grow!

God - this makes me feel paternal! LOL

I'm digging it. I like how you've tweaked the drums. Your vocals on this one sound a bit like Maynard's from Tool.

Wow. That is quite the compliment - I am a huge Tool fan.

Uhh... maybe I should rephrase that.
