i've got the saffire 6 usb and i'm planning to sell it and buy either a line 6 toneport/pod thing (i get extra guitar patches) or a tascam us 100. i also bought the saffire for djing too but ended up buying the audio 2 dj which is a great bit of kit and has never let me down.

Haven't you seen balance yet? If not that then I'd go for a focusrite.

I,ve seen balance but im not sure if the high price is justified yet. (will need to wait for the revieuws of balance i guess) And the thing is need the stuff asap because i,ve a gig comming up, can do it without a lot of stuff but would realy like to have the new gear by then...

I have only tried the Saffire 6 USB of the interfaces you list. They don't come much simpler, but in my opinion the feature set is really well thought out, as are the control options. It is really easy to install (USB driver only, bus powered) and to use. It only has 2 inputs, but each can support mic, or instrument, or line. It has 4 outputs to support simple DJ setups as well as monitoring. The metering is basic. You can mix input and (DAW) output for latency-free monitoring. It has a metal case and looks pretty rugged to me. In summary, I thought it to be a quick-to-set-up, easy-to-use box with a decent audio quality. Ideal for stereo location recording.

Should be ideal for a portable DJ setup - take a look at the Focusrite site for the connection options.

Edit: the Scarlett has a few extra channels but has to be used with the external power supply; it cannot be bus powered.

RME FF 400, Apogee Duet 2 or TC electronic Desktop Konnekt. If you have the cash then metric halo, but this is another planet.
