Please bring back OVERDUB

In Reason3 I would often set the sequencer to record with loop on and play in some midi notes. When a note was played over one that was already there it would replace it. This was very handy if I'd made a 4 bar loop and wanted to change the notes in say, just the last bar. This method of recording is called 'Overdubbing' and is not possible in Reason4!! I find the new 'Alt Dub' and 'New Dub' totally useless.
With 'Alt dub' I cant hear what the rest of the loop is playing until my intended edit and with 'New dub' the old notes are still there.
Why has 'Over dub' been taken out of Reason4?
