A consolidate button

You all probably had this experience.

You are working on a track, and you are getting somewhere with a certain synth setting. You build on it and are like OH YEAH this is the stuff.

Then, in your enthousiasm, you accidentely save the track AFTER you screwed around with the settings a bit. And then, you can't get that original sound back anymore.

How about a consolidate button, next to save, which lets you save your reason file and it's immediately marked as read only, so you can't overwrite it. The only option would be to save it under a new name (track1, track2, whatever).

It's ofcourse up to yourself to save your work and keep track of versions, but it could make life (especially when you're in the zone and had a few drinks) a lot easier.
