Recover a noos BCR2000 through a BCF2000?

The "noos" message hit me after upgrading a Behringer BCR2000 (Rotary).
The BCF2000 (Fader) upgrade worked fine. Now I have a brand new broken BCR2000.

As I don't have a MIDI out on my soundcard I thought buying two MIDI cables and connect the BCR to the BCF and pass the SysEx thing via MIDI-OX through the working BCF2000. As I already burnt my fingers with an upgrade I hoped someone of you could give me some advice or stop me from thrashing another device. :-)

If I'm right this might work:
- Put the working BCF2000 to U-4 mode
- Connect BCF2000 MIDI out A to MIDI In of the trashed device
- Connect BCF2000 MIDI In to MIDI B/Thru of the trashed device
- With MIDI-OX send the file over MIDI out of BCF2000.... and pray.

Any advice is much appreciated!!!
