Step midi input in sequencer please

It's probably way too late to bring this up for Reason 5 (although I did ask a long time back about the same thing) but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we have step midi input in the Reason sequencer? Just to be clear what I mean, you set the length of a note in the sequencer, then you press one or more keys on a midi keyboard and the notes for that time step appear in the sequencer, and the time step moves on by one step ready for the next input. Pressing the spacebar enters a rest instead of a note. Basically, how it works in Cubase!! At the moment the only way to do step input is using the mouse which is unbelievably slow. Of course I could just learn to play live!

Please!

Thanks.
Ric.
