Hi-NRG, Synthpop song "California, I Love You"

Hi all,

I am a recent convert to Reason+Record from Logic and this is my first completed song using only Reason and Record. It is in the Hi-NRG style of the early and mid-80s. The song is about coming home after a few years away and realizing you are back where you belong. This song was done using the FSB, Exode's Massive Synthesis and J-P's Kings of Kong. Would love your impressions, comments and suggestions! Thanks,

I was out of work and defeated
Like the Prodigal Son I returned
With a warm embrace you welcomed me

Bandaged me up and licked my wounds
Didn't have to explain it all
Life starts again when you are free

When I needed a friend
You sent me one
When I needed some cash
You lent me some

Open to all
Stranger to none
I will not forget
What you've helped me become

California, I love you
From the bottom of my broken heart
California, I love you
From the marrow of my broken bones

The sunshine it warms my face
The wind it knows my name
I am home

When I needed a friend
You sent me one
When I needed some cash
You lent me some

This city I live in
Is a work of art
I am so proud
To play my part

New Pacific Deep track, Expire. Album out soon!
