Audition./Rewire problem

I'm trying to set up Audition 3.0.1 as a Rewire host for Reason 4.0.1, but every time Reason launches it screws up my audio card setup in Audition, making it impossible to monitor anything. Audition works perfectly until I launch Reason from the Rewire option. The error message I get is this: "The currently selected audio driver is not available. Another application may be using the same driver or the device may not be properly connected and powered. You can select a new driver using the Audio Hardware Setup option."

The "other application" that is using the same driver (and blocking it) is most likely Reason. Pls help!

I'm on W7/64 bits, Lexicon Lamba sound card with latest (W7) ASIO driver.
