how to get nice, even, in time loops

hi guys, been inserting short melodies for a techno track via the midi keyboard. many of these melodies are repeating over and over (looping) and i was wondering if there is a better way of creating this repeated pattern rather than recording me playing the loop over and over on the midi keyboard (the problem being, the fact that each loop sounds a little different as my playing is a few milliseconds out of time and varies slightly). iv tried recording the loop once then copy and pasting it, but i find theres a small gap in between each loop and i want the loop to be playing continiuosly. any ideas??
