newbie with ASIO sound card issue

Hi everyone,

I've just installed my newly purchased Reason 6 on my Dell XPS 1530 laptop and during the installation, I was informed that my sound card (standard internal Sigmatel) is not ASIO compliant and therefore I can't record audio (I'm assuming this means voice) which is important to me.

long story short, I need some advice on which ASIO external USB sound card to purchase, I am tempted by:
  • American Audio Versa Port soundcard
  • Creative Labs E-MU 8740A 0204 USB 2.0 Audio Interface
I'm hoping someone here has had a similar dilemma and hopefully they can advise me on the above 2 items, or recommend a sound card (up to $150) that will work fine with Reason and my M-Audio Oxygen 49 midi controller keyboard.

Thanks in advance folks!
