How to create my own sounds/copy others?
I know this question gets asked a lot but I feel like my question is SLIGHTLY different
Okay, so I want to learn how to make my own sounds or create sounds that I hear from artists I like. Currently I am using Reason 6 with Pro Tools.
Now, I have watched TONS of tutorials on subtractive synthesis and all that jazz that is related to Reason. I have a moderate understanding of what filters do, ADSR, etc etc
BUT even then, when I hear a sound in a song I want to imitate, I am completely clueless.....
While I will continue reading up on what each parameter, on the different synths, in Reason do, I was wondering HOW DO YOU GUYS DO it?!
Where did you start?
When you hear a sound, how do you go about breaking it a part and re-creating it?
Any good Reason 6 books/online tutorials that really helped you?
What are some good steps to follow or exercises that helped you improve in making your own sounds?
Any advice would be great because it feels like I am walking in circles...
