Jean Michel Jarre in Monaco
I am just watching the concert for the royal wedding in 2011 on youtube. Aside from the spectacle he always creates, what is amazing is the mix of high tech and analog. There must be MIDI or digital links going on, but I can't tell from the rapid-fire camera work. He has three other players on stage with him, so it's possible everything is being played in real time other than some obvious sequenced arpeggios and percussion parts. He has an awful of analog gear on that stage. The only things I recognize in his rig are an Arp 2600 and some modules from another concert I saw recently, but there is much more. (Oh, yeah, and the famous Light Harp.) How does he keep it all fresh? I never get tired of listening to his stuff.
