Question Eliminating clipping in mixdown

I'm working on mixing a track I have created but am having trouble eliminating all of the clipping on a redrum drum kit. in particular, one of the hi-hats was clipping and the only way that I could get the little clipping warning to stop flashing was to bring the level down to about 7, very quiet. Is there a way to effectively keep the level up and eliminate the clipping? If not, is it terrible if there is some minor clipping in areas such as this? I don't want to leave the level at 7 because then it is almost too low in the mix to be heard. Sorry if this is a very elementary question, it is my first time completing a full mixdown. I was somewhat surprised because I had barely adjusted anything in this redrum kit which I loaded from the factory sound bank and even the stock drum notes were clipping in some instances.
