Cleaning exposed woofer cones.

I'm seriously considering buying the KRK RP5G2 Rokit 5's for my studio setup. Currently I have some Altec Lansing computer speakers w/ sub that have worked faithfully since mid 90s (no joke). Since I've never owned speakers without any grill/mesh covering I'm curious if it is possible to CLEAN or wipe the exposed woofer. I tend to get a lot of dust in my place and I tend to wipe my keyboard like every other day (slight OCD) but know speaker woofers are typically very thin and can be ripped if you're not careful.
