Reason not recognising my microphone

I have plugged my Rode NT2A microphone in to my Alesis MultiMix4 channel mixer and the phantom power is turned on, when i open up my Audio Midi Setup I have the USB Audio CODEC selected but it wont let me select an input and where it says source it is greyed out and i cannot select Mic 1 from the mixer.

I think because of this that the microphone is not being recognised in the audio track drop down menu, but i can record with the internal microphone.

Please help!!
