Electronic Drum set echo?

I have recently faced a problem trying to use an electric drum kit with Reason. First I tried using the ID8. This worked fine, but I experience a problem with the hi-hat. Almost every time I hit the hi-hat, it plays multiple notes, and it records these extra notes. It is completely random. It is almost an echo but with a pattern. When using this drum set through an amplifier, I do not experience this problem. I have also used Reaper, and Audacity with this drum set and it has worked just fine. I also tried using the NN-XT and have experience this same problem. I own a E-ED001 by Singing Machine electric drum kit. Any help or possible explanations would be appreciated!
