Question combinators, am i doing this right

If anyone has any ideas for this i'd be grateful
I am writing a piece of classical music, thing is i'm going to need so many instruments to do it,
Strings, solo strings, brass, solo brass, choirs, stattaco, pizzacato etc etc, so to do that i'll end up with like 20-30 combinators in my rack.
not sure that is the right way to go.
I'm thinking maybe i can do all the strings and then mix down to 1 track? and do the same for the woodwind, brass and choir sections and add them all in together.
is that the way to go, or do i really just add tons of combinators in the rack?

thanks
