Angry Computer too slow Mac book Pro

I know this has been covered a few times, but it's worth repeating.

Reason user for over 6 years.

I have 2010 Mac book pro 15inch. 8 gigs ram, with balance interface. Running mountain lion.

I'm trying to run a song that is 13 tracks , audio and midi. Fairly heavy on the rack extentions.

The song keeps glitching, slowing and stopping. With the dreaded "computor too slow". In fact I can't play back many songs at all without the stutter glitch.

I have a memory cleaner for the ram, and my cpu % is running at about 48% user and 52% idle, yet Reason keeps failing. Over and over again.

In the activity monitor list reason is chewing through about 140% cpu. When the song is playing. (I don't get the discrepancy)

Yes I have optimised reason as far as I can without loosing audio quality.

Any help would be much appreciated. Very frustrated.
