Cool 2 Reason versions on 1 harddrive -> 1 pair of soundbanks??

I own a copy of Reason 6 as well as v3 and I have them both installed on one Harddrive.
(I still like the feel of Reason 3.)
Anyway, I was wondering if it would be possible to only address one pair of soundbanks (1x factory, 1x orkester) instead of two. The version 6 soundbanks contain all samples and patches from previous ones, so it would be a waste of disk space to have double files installed.
I tried aliasing the v6 SB's but that didn't work, keeps asking for the original cd's. I've put them back in the program directory. Wondering if there would be a more efficient way... It's not a big deal if it's impossible, but it would be nice.

So in short...can older versions of Reason run with newer soundbanks?
