Tryna recreate some drum patterns from old skool rave/house tracks. I'm relatively new to production (7 months). Can anyone tell me what drums are being played in these 3 tracks. Kicks, snares, hi hats, claps etc. I'd like to know how they fill them up so well and make such a driving rhythm for the song. What effects are being used also. I know most of these tracks from 89-93, the drums were made on an 808 or 909 drum machine. Maybe I could achieve more of the results I'm aiming for with one of these. Would love to have an 808 and a 909. I would like ReBirth actually. Also, are any effects beign applied to give them an extra feel or quality?
First one is the drums at the beginning of Liquid is Liquid by Liquid:-
Next is Sweet Sensation by Shades of Rhythm:-
