ReWire with Cubase 6.5.4
I know this has been asked several times in the forum, but none of the answers in the threads I found via search had the correct answer for my problem.
Never used ReWire before and finally decided to give it a try. Using Reason 4 with Cubase Artist 6.5.4 in 32 bit mode on MacOSX 10.6.8.
When I open Cubase, in the devices menu, there is no ReWire devices listed. I've reinstalled Cubase but that did not cure it.
If I launch Abelton Live 6 everything ReWires exactly as expected. Reason boots into slave mode, I feed the audio input from Reason into an audio track in Live. I send the MIDI from my Axiom into a MIDI track in Live which is then sent to a device in the Reason slave rack. Perfect.
So I know it is not a Propellerhead problem, ReWire works just fine. From juggling the various files in both Application Support folders (user level/root level) I can see which ReWire and engine files are required.
There is an Ableton Live Engine file there but no Cubase engine. Should there be some kiind of file Cubase is looking for in able for ReWire to work in it?
I know Cubase users ReWire Reason all the time so maybe someone out there can take a look at their set up and see if I have a file missing. Why would I have no ReWire devices?
