"If you don't throw some money in the pitcher, we're comin' for your TV,"

Loading SoundCloud…

A good friend and producer of blues here in Chicago.\
Thought I'd share........
The Pioneer Square Tavern in 1982 was a dive. A real dive, not a "dive bar" where young hipsters hung out and felt adventurous, but a funky skid road tavern populated by winos and folks on the skids - with a few music-loving hippies thrown in at times, usually for short periods of time. The owners were hopeful, but the time for Pioneer Square to become trendy (it once WAS trendy, yes it was) had not yet arrived. But the blues was there, and we were playing them. And passing the pitcher for donations. "If you don't throw some money in the pitcher, we're comin' for your TV," said drummer/singer/bandleader Twist Turner. Guitars: Louis X, Erlanger and Jack Cook; bass, Mark Dalton.
