Venn Diagram - Caduceus
The final conclusion to my last series of work in progress uploads.
This is the complete, mastered composition titled 'Caduceus'.
I took a few risks with this mix and tried out some production techniques I haven't attempted before.
Many thanks to one and all for the feedback and comments on the work in progress. I used a large portion my studio arsenal for this track and am rather pleased with the end results.
Special thanks to Joseph for the mastering (a second set of ears I can always rely on)and Rob for the critical arrangement feedback when i hit a brick wall. It resulted in me scrapping the original intro, rewriting it and adding the granular orchestral score.
It's hard to imagine that a small collection of 5-6 samples morphed(sliced, diced, processed and effected) could turn into a piece that ended up being some 42 audio tracks and 7 AU instruments in size.
I think I used everything in my studio bar the Moog on this one (in some way shape or form).
Written, arranged, composed and produced, programmed and edited by Venn Diagram with additional sound design / samples by Uwe Zahn.
Gear used - Octatrack, Monomachine, Machinedrum, MS20Mini,Nord Modular, Kong, NN19, Custom Rex Files (Thanks Reason 7), Malstrom, Tassman. Started in Reason, rewired to Logic where all hardware was recorded and mixed down.
