Not burning to CD

Probably been done to death already (so apologies if so - tried searching but couldn't find a topic).

I'm making dance tracks that I'd imagine would only be digitally released (e.g Beatport) on 320mp3 or Wav (if at all!).....with that in mind I don't need to burn anything to CD (so presumably no need to render a wav at 16bit/44.1kHz?), would this mean that I would be better off rendering the final mastered file at a higher bit/sampling rate (thus getting the best quality) before submitting files to labels as wavs or mp3?
