Brand new MacBook Pro - DSP Overload

Hi!

So, we bought a brand new MacBook Pro, 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, 8 gb RAM.
I am very new to macs, we usually run PC when going live.

When loading up Reason 7.0.1 with Balance the songs just stops and the DSP peaks directly even with buffer size at 1024.

Before we used a PC Vaio laptop from 2010 with no issues (256 in buffer size with balance), so this feels kind of odd. Shouldn't the latest model of Macbook pro run this smoothly? Or am i doing something wrong? Our projects ar quite large but if they worked before they should definitely work now.

Is there any way to fix this or should i just go back to those Apple-"geniuses" and get my money back?

Best regards, Jim
