Why Reason doesn't run under Wine

I missed a thread earlier about running Reason on Linux/via wine.

I tried this a little short of a year ago. It didn't work. I reported it with a dump to the wine developers and (this is from memory and how they explained it to me) Reason checks a certain dll to see whether you have the right version of windows installed. Because it actually tries to inspect the contents of the dll and finds instead the wine implementation of the dll it assumes you have the wrong version of windows and aborts.

I *assume* that if this check was not implemented, or if it didn't abort automatically, or if the user was given a choice to proceed anyway, Reason would work under wine

Please props, don't do checking on system files or just give a warning rather than aborting the program.
