Synth CS Brass (Reason Factory Sound Bank / NNXT Sampler Patches / Brass)
Great flexibility on this patch. Nice for holding chords and arpeggiating melodies as well. The tone reminds of some French tunes, with that muted horn quality... the attack is very soft and it comes off quite gentle. I used it quite a bit on my tune 'I Believe In', it can best be heard doing the lead melody in the break. - http://soundcloud.com/felixcartal/untitled
This is the patch I created to make the bassline on my track 'World Class Driver'. A simple sawtooth bassline that hits very deep with a kick. Has a nice rhythm built into it already that helps it groove even without any percussion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRspjd4fiDs
B GrandPiano 1.0 (Reason Factory Sound Bank / NNXT Sampler Patches / Piano)
The piano tones in Reason are one of my favourite aspects of the program. Very true and reliable, but also synthetic enough if you want to go for more of a traditional 90's house vibe. This one you can't go wrong, sounds especially powerful on the lower octaves.
Bassic (1001 Malstrom Refill / Contributed Patches / Chris Mayhew / Bass)
A nice simple sawtooth bass. A great starting point for a big sound. I've paired this with a tape distortion from the Scream 4 on my track 'The Grinch' to achieve some of the grimier sounds that you hear.
Filmstrip (Reason Factory Sound Bank / Thor Patches / Signature Patches / Morgan Geist)
A few frequency adjustments on this patch and you can create some great 8-bit sounds when teamed with a high-rate arpeggiator. I've been experimenting with this a lot for my upcoming tunes. Love the depth and motion to the sound.
